On April 21, a launch ceremony of trial operation of Xi'an Hong Hui Hospital North District (North District in short) and the opening ceremony of 2023 Xi'an Orthopedics Summit was held at the Academic Hall of Administration Building of the North Section.

The North District, situated at 666 North Section of Jian Yuan Er Road, in the High-speed Railway New Town of Xi'an Economic & Technological Development Zone, boasts a land area of 314 mu (20.93 hectares). With a total investment of approximately 5.84 billion yuan and total floor area of nearly 680,000 square meters, the North District provides 3,000 beds for medical services.

The North District was constructed following a "Planning Once and Construction in Phases" approach, with the first-phase project offering 1,600 beds. In alignment with the latest industrial trends, which prioritize "surgical treatment for internal medicine, minimally invasive treatment of surgical treatment, and precise treatment of minimally invasive treatment", the North District has established its traditional orthopedic specialties in spine, joint and trauma treatment. It has also developed several disciplinary clusters with a strong academic focus, including respiratory medicine, gastroenterology, and vascular surgery, among others. These efforts are part of the North District's overall aim to become a state-level regional medical center for orthopedics.

Located at the pivotal area of the airport and high-speed train station, the North District is well-positioned to make significant contributions towards accelerating the medical internationalization of Xi'an. The North District's development has been guided by a vision that aligns with standards of "world vision, international standard and Xi'an feature". Through this approach, the North District aims to take the lead in establishing an international medical center for the Belt and Road Initiative. This ambitious undertaking seeks to improve medical conditions not just for the residents of Xi'an but also for those in Shaanxi Province and surrounding regions. In doing so, the North District will strive to meet the growing needs of individuals seeking high-quality medical treatment and healthcare services.

Meanwhile, Xi'an Hong Hui Hospital seized the opportunity presented by the launch ceremony to organize the 2023 Xi'an Orthopedics Summit. This summit comprises 14 professional forums dedicated to the field of orthopedics, and has invited over 200 top orthopedic experts from across China.
