On January 8, the National Science and Technology Award Conference was solemnly held by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council in Beijing. “Innovation and Promotion Project of Key Technologies for Repair of Severe Spinal Trauma”, completed by the team led by Professor Hao Dingjun of Xi'an Honghui Hospital, won the Second Prize of National Scientific and Technological Progress. Professor Hao Dingjun, as the leader of the project team, was cordially received by the Party and state leaders.

“Three National Awards” is the highest award in the field of science and technology in China. The Second Prize of National Scientific and Technological Progress is the first one in 108 years since the founding of the Xi’an Honghui Hospital and the first in the history of Xi'an Health Committee. At the same time, it is the only award won by the Health Science Center of Xi'an Jiaotong University this year, and also the only National Scientific and Technological Progress Award in the field of orthopaedics in China this year.

Aiming at the three bottlenecks in the treatment of severe spinal trauma, with the support of more than 20 funds such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Hao Dingjun, Leader of Project Team, Deputy Director of the Orthopaedic Society of Chinese Medical Association and President of Xi'an Honghui Hospital, built a new system for the treatment of severe spinal trauma after 25 years of research based on the innovation of key technologies and the research and development of medical devices, which significantly improved the safety and effectiveness of the operation, and promoted the overall satisfaction of patients.
